Deborah Smith graduated from Campbell University, North Carolina with a Bachelor of Business Administration. After moving to Washington, she attended Washington State University, Tri-Cities, and graduated with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She did her internship at Nueva Esperanza, which is now Tricity Community Health, and, upon completing that joined the organization as a mental health counselor. My work there included children, adolescents, and adults, some of whom had just been released from the hospital.
In 2006, after receiving her license in 2005, she began her private practice, and 17 years later continues in private practice specializing in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CBT, Hypnotherapy, and the LGBTQ+ community, especially with individuals who experience gender dysphoria. I have worked with couples, families, and children in the past. Currently, my focus is on adolescents and adults who suffer from depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, grief and loss, and bipolar disorder.
